Symposium

The Center will host a symposium at UNT on Thursday, March 4, 2010 to analyze and discuss the challenging relationships between the United States and three Latin American nations:  Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia. These three Latin American nations hold strategic interests to the United States in many different areas, ranging from trade and commerce to the crackdown and nationalization of many media industries, especially in Venezuela.  Academic scholars from the three countries will visit UNT to participate in a forum that should have wide interdisciplinary interests for other programs such as political science, business, anthropology, foreign languages, journalism, communication studies, and international studies. The symposium is funded by a grant from Wells Fargo.
